ACL Testimonials
I attribute so much of my senior year success to the guys at Athletes' Edge. Kevin turned what I thought was a career-ending injury into a noticeable athletic improvement. My 40 time, vertical, shuttle drill, and any other measure of athleticism you can think of increased. Going from an average junior year where I got hurt in the 4th game, to a state championship and starting both ways felt truly amazing. I am so grateful to Kevin and DJ for enabling me to have such an awesome senior season, while also turning me into a better athlete than I ever was. I still see Kevin twice a week: before games and then a couple of days after to recover. I have been healthy all year, and it's thanks to the guys at The Athletes’ Edge.

I started with DJ about 7 months post ACL surgery. I was still having a lot of pain in my knee and needed to gain a lot more strength. From the very start of working with DJ , I could tell how much he cared that I was able to get back to the player I once was. Something that stood out to me was how he looked at my strength as a whole, instead of just my knee, which I think made a huge impact on my recovery. Over the past 3 months, DJ has helped me so much, from getting back into shape, building strength, and even getting back on the soccer field again. One thing I love most about his program is how easy it is to use. With the app, I can tell exactly what to do that day and even message him if I have any questions. While I still have a long way to go , DJ is there to celebrate all of the small victories with me and I am so thankful for him!

My daughter Julie tore her ACL and meniscus last May due to a soccer related injury. She loves soccer and has been playing at a competitive level for many years. The minute her injury was confirmed, her main priority was to get better and come back even stronger than before!! When her post surgery physical therapy was completed, it was time for more of a "strength based training." Her soccer coach recommended DJ to us. After we met with him, we knew he was EXACTLY what Jules was looking for...and she couldn't wait to get started. After just a few visits with DJ she had seen major improvements in her strength, stability, jumping, etc. The biggest thing she noticed while working with DJ was how much confidence she gained...in a short amount of time!! Each week DJ's positive energy became contagious. Not only did he focus on building her "physical" strength, but he put just as much effort into building her "mental" strength too!As a parent, that was one of our favorite things about him!! All the physical health means nothing, if she isn't "mentally" ready to return to the field.
Each week DJ was always super supportive! Knowing this was a devastating injury for an her, he wanted to hear both her hopes and fears as he prepared her to return to the game she loves. Through it all he believed in her, and that in turn made her believe in herself. The thing Jules LOVED most was that she felt like she was the ONLY athlete he was training. She has learned so much from him. In addition to her once a week "in person" sessions, he assigned daily "at home" workouts to help her strengthen her leg on her own. She plans to continue these same exercises even after she is back on the field. Through this experience she learned that ALL athletes should do some kind of strength training on their own. If she knew this sooner, it may have prevented her injury.
If all goes well, Jules will be back on the field in April. After 11 LONG months of preparing, we can confidently say she is READY! We are beyond thankful for everything DJ has done for our daughter and we highly recommend him to anyone struggling with an injury...OR someone who just wants to participate in some type of strength training!!! DJ started out as a trainer for our daughter, but now we consider him our family friend. We are so happy to have found him and look forward to sharing Julie's future soccer journey with him. Thanks to his time and effort, Julie has grown in so many ways. All of which will help her both on and off the field! As you can imagine, our fingers are crossed that her dream comes true and she starts her NEXT soccer chapter, stronger than she's ever been! Thanks so much DJ! She wouldn't be where she is without you!

I couldn’t recommend the Athlete’s Edge more for support with ACL recovery. Kevin and DJ have been working closely with my high school-aged son for the past few months, beginning 5 months out from surgery. He was in need of ongoing PT as well as overall strengthening and preparation for return to playing competitive lacrosse. Our PT benefit through insurance had been exhausted, so we were looking for other options that could provide intensive recovery supports and that wouldn’t break the bank. We only wish we started sooner!
Here’s what we love: (1) State of the art tools and technology. (2) Customized training programs tailored to individual needs and progression. (3) Unlimited scheduling - my son goes 5 days a week. (4) Excellent communication and preparation- his individual training plan is always waiting for him upon arrival. (5) Measurement-based approach to clearing athletes to return to play - we’ll know he’s ready when they say he is. (6) Terrific value for the money - including a number of pricing options to choose from.
